Overview

In 2007, for the first time in its history, Czech Television entered the Eurovision Song Contest, an event organized by the EBU. This 52nd edition of the contest—held on May 10 and 12 in Helsinki, Finland—was preceded by a domestic selection process known as the "Eurosong" national final. Taking place on March 10 at the Trade Fair Palace (Veltržní palác) in Prague, the event saw the rock band Kabát emerge as the winner from among nine finalists. A documentary by director Jan Mudra chronicles not only the events surrounding the domestic Eurosong selection but, more importantly, everything that followed: from the band’s arrival in Helsinki, through rehearsals and dress rehearsals, to their performance in the semi-final—where, unfortunately, their journey came to an end. Viewers will also get a glimpse behind the scenes of the preparations for the entire event and, naturally, meet a number of other contestants from across Europe.
