Since his arrival in 1986, Alex Ferguson has been constructing a new team with one principal aim in mind; the coveted First Division Championship so long denied to the Reds. Building on already firm foundations, he has added, year by year, to the front line squad, the goal grabbers who have helped Manchester United inch towards their ultimate objective. The Super Strikers are Mark Hughes, back from Europe; Brian McClair, brought south from Celtic; Lee Sharpe, signed from Torquay; Andrei Kanchelskis, leaving the USSR to join a different Red Army and new discovery Ryan Giggs. In this 60 minute programme, we talk to not only these players but to a selection of defending opponents who describe why the skill and ability of the Manchester United Strike Force is without doubt the most formidable front line in football today.
