Raymond Depardon's interview for this short documentary moved public opinion, and Paris relented, paying the ransom demanded by Hissène Habré, amounting to ten million francs. Françoise Claustre's story served as the basis for Raymond Depardon's film La Captive du désert, starring Sandrine Bonnaire.
