What is The Truthful Liar about? Bored by her hardworking husband, Tess goes to an illegal gambling den with a former suitor, Arthur Sinclair. The den is robbed and subsequently raided by police. While trying to manage the fallout, she writes a compromising letter that is intercepted and used to blackmail her for $15,000.
