Anushka Sharma

Biography

Anushka Sharma (born May 1, 1988) is an Indian actress and film producer who works predominantly in Hindi cinema. After working as a model, she made her acting debut in the romantic drama *Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi* (2008), earning a Filmfare Award nomination for Best Actress. She subsequently starred in the romantic comedy *Band Baaja Baaraat* (2010), won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for *Jab Tak Hai Jaan* (2012), and starred in the satirical science-fiction comedy *PK* (2014) and *Sultan* (2016).

In 2013, Sharma co-founded the production company Clean Slate Filmz. She produced and starred in the road thriller *NH10* (2015), and later acted in *Ae Dil Hai Mushkil* (2016), *Sanju* (2018), and *Sui Dhaaga* (2018). As a producer, she backed *Phillauri* (2017), *Pari* (2018), the series *Paatal Lok* (2020), and the supernatural thriller *Bulbbul* (2020). Following *Zero* (2018), she made a cameo appearance in *Qala* (2022) and appeared in the documentary series *The Romantics* (2023).
