He began his career as a rally co-driver, notably partnering with Luca di Montezemolo in the 1970s. In 1976, Audetto became the team manager for Scuderia Ferrari, overseeing operations during a pivotal era that included Niki Lauda's remarkable recovery and return to racing after his accident at the Nürburgring.
