Heri Chandra

Biography

Heri Chandra (also spelled Heri Candra) is the real name of the actor who plays Mukidi, the highly popular and iconic lead character in the Javanese YouTube comedy series Woko Channel. Before finding massive success on YouTube, he worked as a traditional dangdut orkes percussionist (drummer/kendang player), performed in traditional jaranan art troupes, and even traded vegetables in local markets. He helped co-found the channel alongside Reza Purwoko (Pak Woko) around 2019. As Mukidi, he is famous for his chaotic antics, knit beanie, signature undershirt look, and punchy catchphrases that drive the channel's viral episodes. He stepped up as the main protagonist in Woko Channel's first theatrical feature film, Piye To Kih?, playing a fictionalized version of Mukidi navigating a supernatural romantic comedy opposite actress Dara Sarasvati.
