Biography

Thanasis Mylonas (1938 – January 4, 1989) was a Greek actor.

He was born in Athens in 1938. He studied at the Drama School of the "Art Theater". He made his theatrical debut in 1958 in Goldoni's play "Locantiera". He collaborated with many well-known troupes, and since 1959 he has acted in approximately 50 films. From 1975 to 1982, his wife Katerina Vasilakou (they married in 1970 and had their daughter Eleni in 1974) and Thanasis Mylonas formed their second troupe and presented at the "Alhambra" and "Orvo" theaters the following plays: "Mary Rose" by James Barrie, "Twelfth Night" by Mr. Shakespeare in an adaptation by George Skourtis, "The Enemies" by Gorky, "Human Relations" by Andrew Davis. Their great success was "The Petty Bourgeois" by Gorky, which was performed for two seasons [1976-1979] at the "Alhambra", a rare event for the time. At the Lusitania theater and on tour, they presented "The Spectators" by Marios Pontikas. Their last theatrical appearance together was Lorca's "Bloody Wedding" at the "Lycavetti" theater in 1982. He died on January 4, 1989, at the age of 51.
