The rescue plan and intrusion of FUNG and PIK fill SHING with fury. He even refuses the emperor’s summon to appear in court on the ground of an illness. During the secret meeting between FUNG and the emperor, FUNG is commissioned for the assassination of SHING with the promise of redressing the wrongs done to the TONG clan. In fleeing from the pursuit of TSEUK and his men, LUI carries PIK on his back and hide out at the edge of a cliff. Their lives hang only by a vine. Not wishing to be his burden, PIK tries to cut off the cord, only to be held back by LUI’s desperate scream which addresses her as mother for the first time. LUI vows to stay by her side, for better or for worse. KAU and TING perform the formal bows as bride and groom……
