What happens in "Episode 1": Back in the early 1960's, Fung Wing-Cheung could never hold onto one job in spite of his family responsibilities. He dreamt of becoming rich one day, and took to gambling, which resulted in losing all he had. On the first day of the Lunar New Year, Wing-Cheung did not earn enough red pocket money, and promised his wife Yin Fong to borrow some from relatives, however, unable to restrain himself, he did not return from the casino. Unwilling to let her son Kin go hungry, Yin Fong picked pockets on the streets, but was detained by the police for alleged involvement in a murder case. Since she was pregnant, Yin Fong found it ever harder to endure the interrogations. Although the court has arranged for Chu Siu Shan, an experienced barrister to represent Yin Fong, the prejury given by witness Szeto Chun put Yin Fong in a disadvantageous position……
