When YEN tried to enter the Valley, a vigorous fight broke out between him and the gang of bandits occupying the Valley and YEN ended up in near-fatal wounds. Nevertheless, his life was spared by a doctor in the gang who proposed to use him as a guinea pig for his medical experiments. It soon turned out that the bandits were not that bad after all. They were merely a group of Kung Fu experts with odd characters who could not get along with the orthodoxy.
