Episode 8 recap: 黄风岭上，刮起一阵怪风，唐僧被妖怪捉去。悟空为救师父，迎战黄风怪，被妖风伤了双眼。黎山老母变化的老妈妈医好了悟空的眼睛。悟空请来灵吉菩萨，收伏了黄毛貂鼠变成的黄风大王。师徒三人来到流沙河畔，悟空与等候取经人的沙悟净几番争斗。观音的徒弟木吒赶来，说明了情况，于是唐僧又收下沙悟净为徒，师徒四人继续西行。在一座庄院里，好客的女主人欲招唐僧为夫，并要将三个女儿嫁给悟空、八戒和沙僧。只有八戒意动神摇，溜进后堂去撞天婚，闹了许多笑话。这女主人和三个女儿本是黎山老母和观音、文殊、普贤三为菩萨变化，特意在此考验唐僧师徒。八戒受到捉弄，十分羞愧。
